About Natasha Albinson
Throughout life, we all encounter moments when our usual ways of coping no longer seem to work. Or we get stuck in unhelpful ways of being but don’t know how to change. It’s completely natural to feel overwhelmed, anxious, low, or even unsure of why things don’t feel quite right. You are not alone in this.

As someone who has both witnessed and personally experienced the profound, life-changing impact of therapy, I am deeply passionate about creating a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and valued. Whether you’re feeling stuck, struggling with self-doubt, or navigating emotional pain, I offer a calm, non-judgemental, and compassionate environment where you can safely explore what’s on your mind and in your heart. Together, we can make sense of the challenges that have brought you here and work towards a future where you feel more resilient, more at ease, and more connected to yourself and those around you. We will learn together how to work collaboratively in order to tailor therapy to you, ensuring that our approach aligns with your unique needs and goals.
My background spans teaching, lecturing, teacher training and working within a range of mental health and well-being services. My lifelong commitment has been to support and help others. I hold an MSc in Psychology and am a qualified and experienced Therapeutic Counsellor and Mindfulness Teacher. My approach to therapy is integrative, meaning I tailor our work together using a range of therapeutic models best suited to your unique needs. Currently, I am advancing my training as a Schema Therapist, with the long-term goal of becoming a Counselling Psychologist.
My personal and professional experience includes a deep understanding of neglect, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, financial abuse, physical abuse, suicide, low self-esteem, neurodiversity, depression, anxiety, adoption and IVF and so much more, so please know, I come from a place of shared understanding via my lived experiences.

I wholeheartedly believe in the power of therapy to foster healing, self-awareness, and personal growth. My promise to you is to always meet you with warmth, respect, and genuine care - never with judgment or prescriptive advice. Instead, I will walk alongside you, following your lead, helping you find clarity and confidence in your own answers. The aim is to help get you to a place where you feel resourced and independent so you know longer need support.
Therapy with me involves more than just talking. Alongside meaningful conversations, I use powerful experiential techniques like imagery work and two-chair exercises to in time create deep, lasting change.

Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, and I truly appreciate you considering my profile. If we work together, my hope is that you leave with a deeper understanding of yourself, a renewed sense of empowerment, and practical tools to navigate life with greater ease and self-compassion. Whatever you are facing, you don’t have to face it alone - I am here to support you.

Schema Therapy
I offer Person-Centred Therapeutic Counselling as part of a humanistic approach that places you at the heart of the therapeutic process. Rooted in empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard, this way of working creates a warm and non-judgemental space where you can feel truly heard, seen, and accepted. Rather than directing or diagnosing, I trust in your innate capacity for growth and healing, and support you in exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. This gentle yet profound approach can help you reconnect with your sense of self, build self-worth, and find greater clarity and emotional balance.
I integrate mindfulness into therapy to support you in managing stress, chronic health conditions, and persistent pain with greater ease and self-compassion. Drawing on evidence-based approaches like Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), I help you cultivate awareness of your body, thoughts, and emotions in the present moment, without judgment. Mindfulness offers practical tools to help you relate differently to discomfort, reduce reactivity, and gently shift your relationship with pain or illness. Whether you're navigating ongoing health challenges or feeling overwhelmed by stress, mindfulness can support you in finding calm, building resilience, and reconnecting with a sense of wholeness and possibility.
I use Schema Therapy as a deeply integrative and transformative approach to help you understand and heal long-standing thought - emotional – behavioural patterns. This therapy brings together elements of cognitive, experiential, interpersonal, and behavioural work to address unmet emotional needs and shift your inner beliefs known as schemas that can keep you feeling stuck, ashamed, or disconnected. Through a compassionate and collaborative process, we explore the modes or parts of you that have developed to cope, protect, or survive, and work gently toward change that feels safe and lasting. Schema Therapy is especially helpful if you’ve tried other approaches but still feel caught in the same patterns, offering depth, clarity, and hope for real emotional growth.
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) is a wonderful approach that I integrate into therapy to support you in developing practical skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. Rooted in both acceptance and change, DBT helps you navigate intense emotions while building a more balanced and resilient inner life. Whether you're struggling with overwhelm, relationship challenges, or patterns of self-criticism, DBT offers clear, compassionate strategies that can complement and enhance other therapeutic approaches. Together, we can draw on DBT techniques in a way that fits your unique needs and supports your journey toward greater stability and wellbeing.
Motivational Interviewing
As an integrative psychotherapist, I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) as a compassionate and collaborative approach to help you explore and strengthen your own motivation for change. Grounded in empathy and respect for your autonomy, MI allows us to meet you where you are - especially if you're feeling ambivalent or stuck and work with your inner wisdom to uncover your values, desires, and possibilities for growth. By integrating MI with other therapeutic approaches, I support you in clarifying your goals, resolving inner conflicts, and moving toward meaningful, self-directed change at a pace that feels right for you.
EMDR
I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) to help you safely process and heal from traumatic experiences that may still be affecting your present-day life. EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based approach that supports your brain's natural ability to reprocess distressing memories, reducing their emotional intensity and helping you feel more grounded and in control. Whether your trauma stems from a single event or more complex, long-term experiences, EMDR can gently unlock stuck patterns and bring relief without the need to relive every detail. I integrate EMDR into therapy in a way that feels safe, paced, and always within the context of a trusting therapeutic relationship.
